I’m drooling. I love tres leches and it’s cool to see this version without baking powder. I want to have a slice right now!

By the way, the extent of Mexican tres leches’ reach is also amazing. I’ve seen a similar cake at a Yemeni coffee house— I think they just called it a milk cake and it included flavors like pistachio and rosewater. I think it’s so neat how other cultures adopt recipes from across the world. :)

Thank you Leslie, those cakes you mention sounds delicious. The cakes you mention must be delicious; I’d never heard of those flavors before.

THIS is how a recipe should be written! I am an experienced cook and baker at this point in life, so I have less questions about how long or what a batter should look like, but inexperienced cooks need this. My son is learning to bake and he often texts with questions bc the recipe is vague- "mix batter", "cream butter", "fold in" -beginners don't know what they're looking for. This is perfect.

This is one of my absolute favorite cakes (when done right). I have one trusted recipe I use that is similar but not quite the same so I'm eager to try this to compare it.

Thank you so much for sharing.
